黄金夢想曲/Ougon Musou Kyoku [CharacterAbility]

This last post is about CharacterAbility, a unique ability that only each character has. It is not known how it is invoked, how many times it can be invoked and if it costs any SP charges at all. All that has been released is each character's CharacterAbility and what it does.

The basic thing about CharacterAbility is that the ability is shared by both characters i.e. if I activate Beatrice's InfinitySP, both her partner and herself will get the ability.

And now, for the list of CharacterAbility:

Battler - Resurrection. In use character gains HP regeneration.

Beatrice - InfinitySP. Moves that require SP cost nothing.

Agne - StunBoost. Attacks that will stun will deal more damage.

Lucifer - AttackTouch (not to be confused with the Touching method). I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS DOES.

Shannon - AutoGuard. Attacks are all guarded. You are also guarded while dashing.

Kanon - SilentAttack. Attacks give lesser than normal SP to the opponent.

Virgilia - Brimful. Both partner and yourself gain SP regeneration.

Ronove - CounterBoost. Counters deal more damage.

Eva Beatrice - Berserk. In use character gains an increase in damage output.

Chiester410 - BreakBoost. Blocked attacks fill the opponents Break Limit bar faster than normal.

黄金夢想曲/Ougon Musou Kyoku [Touching]

Touching is the game's term for tagging your partners into the battle. There are 5 different kinds of Touching in the game: the normal Touch, AttackTouch (not to be confused with Lucifer's CharacterAbility), GuardTouch, DamageTouch and AssaultTouch.

The normal Touch is invoked by just pressing Touch. Your in use character will do a special pose and say something before jumping off-screen and your partner jumps in, becoming the in use character.

AttackTouch is invoked by pressing Touch as part of an attack combo. Your partner will come in from the top corner and hit the opponent, after which you can continue the attack combo. At the moment, AttackTouch does not cost anything but there are already rumours that it will cost 1 SP because some guy managed to do an infinite combo during beta testing.

GuardTouch is invoked when you press Touch during guarding attacks. The only useful thing for this is that you can use it to prevent a last hit which would have caused GuardBreak. This consumes 1(ONE) SP charge from your partner's SP gauge.

DamageTouch is invoked by pressing Touch when you are being damaged. Similar to Melty Blood's Circuit Spark, a sphere is created around you and the opponent is thrown backwards to the other end of the screen. The opponent cannot recover at this point but after the character is slammed into the other end, recovery is possible. This consumes 2(TWO) SP charges from your partner's SP gauge.

AssaultCharge is a unique, offensive Touch. By pressing ↓＼→+Touch, your in use character will rush forward. Judging from the new gameplay video, it seems as though you are invincible when you are rushing. Once you connect with the opponent, damage is dealt and the Touch happens, after which you can start a combo. This consumes 2(TWO) SP charges from your partner's SP gauge.

黄金夢想曲/Ougon Musou Kyoku [Gauge Explanation]

The list has been put up on the official site. But if you can't read jap, or are too lazy to read it, I shall put the rough translations here on my blog.

Starting with the first page, Gauge Explanation.
①HP gauge
Both characters share this HP gauge, which explains why the gauge turns from blue to yellow to orange to red to nothing

②Break gauge
This gauge increases each time you block an attack. Once it is full, you receive a Guard Break, which opens you to attacks. The only way to reduce it is to Touch your partner.

③SP gauge (in use character)
This is how much SP your character currently has. The maximum number is 5.
Using a 必殺技 Hissatsu-waza does not consume SP.
Using an SP必殺技 SP Hissatsu-waza consumes 1(ONE) SP charge.
Using a 乱舞技 Ranbu-waza consumes 2(TWO) SP charge.
Using a Metafield consume 1(ONE) SP charge.

④Time limit
If you don't know this, I WILL KILL YOU

⑤MetaGauge
This affects your character's ability to create a Metafield. The gauge has to be full to activate a Metafield. I am mindfucked by the different names of Metafield cancelling so I'm just going to put it simple terms:

1. YOU can activate your Metafield, consuming 1(ONE) SP charge.
2. YOUR OPPONENT can activate his/her Metafield to cancel out YOUR Metafield, consuming 2(TWO) SP charges.
3. YOU can activate it AGAIN to cancel the cancel, consuming 2(ONE) SP charges.
4. YOUR OPPONENT can cancel your cancel, consuming 3(THREE) SP charges.
5. YOU can activate it ONE LAST TIME to cancel the opponent's last cancel, consuming 2(TWO) SP charges as well as activating your Metafield.

⑥Touch gauge
In this game, tagging your partner in is called Touching. Once the CHARGE bar is full, you can do any kind of touch and call your partner in to take over.

⑦SP gauge (partner)
The SP gauge for your partner. It fills up as you battle. Maximum charge is 5.

10 character profiles have been released. Joining the previous 6 are Ronove, Virgilia, Eva Beatrice and Chiester410.

Ronove's CharacterAbility is CounterBoost, which boosts the damage your counter attacks deal.

Virgilia's CharacterAbility is Brimful, which gives her SP regen.

Eva Beatrice's CharacterAbility is Berserk, which sends her into a frenzy, massively increasing her damage output.

Chiester410's CharacterAbility is BreakBoost, which increases her damage when the opponent is guarding, which in turn hastens the opponent towards his/her Break Limit.

Black★Rock Shooter THE GAME

You guys remember this post? Well, a lot of information has been released since and now, a trailer has been revealed!

Imageepoch - famous for it's Luminous Arc games and Fate/Extra - is the developer for this game. It is slated to be a mix of RPG and 3rd person shooter.

The story is simple and shall be presented by the screenshots that follow:
NOTE: the blurry pictures are not caused by me, it is the original video that is blurry.


It's the year AD2051


It has been 19 years since the invasion


Of the whole human race, only 12 are left

Another 2 character profiles have been added! Brother and sister make an appearance, Kanon and Shannon.

Kanon's CharacterAbility is SilentTouch, of which neither Zhen Wei or me could understand. All we know is that during attacks, something happens to your SP gauge.

Shannon's CharacterAbility is AutoGuard, which is as the name implies. However useful this ability is, it can be both a blessing and a curse. Having played Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep and experiencing Auto Guard from Zack is VERY DARNED IRRITATING for me.

Today, I'm going to show you guys a video with a very interesting and catchy tune. I have no idea what the video is supposed to accomplish but for some reason, this simple video made me smile :D

2 new character profiles have been released as well as a gameplay video! Joining Beatrice and Battler in the profile page are Lucifer and Ange.

Lucifer's CharacterAbility is AttackTouch, of which I don't have the foggiest idea what it does.

Agne's CharacterAbility is StunBoost, which increases her chances of stunning the opponent while attacking. In addition to that, Agne can summon Sakutarou. It is hinted that you have to input an attack command after summoning her.

From the gameplay video, it seems that the background changes when certain attacks are done. Beatrice just looks like her playing style is abusing her SP attacks because she has an infinite SP gauge. Kanon and Lucifer looks like they're the Ciel and Akiha/Red Arcuied equivalent beacause of their speedy attacks.

I will be doing a "Character Profile Update" post for every character as well as a gameplay screenshots post soon. Look out for it!

Umineko no Naku Koro ni doujin fighter

黄金夢想曲/Ougon Musou Kyoku/Golden Dream Song(rough translation)

As the title says, a doujin fighter is being developed by 07th Expansion and is set for release on December 31 2010. A trailer video has been put up as well as a website along with character controls and screenshots.

With what little information, a few points are sure:

1. Every character has a "CharacterAbility". Battler's ability is Resurrection, which gives him HP Regen. Beatrice's ability is Infinity SP, which is as the name implies, infinite SP. I suppose SP is the equivalent of Melty Blood's Heat Gauge.
2. Every character is paired with another character. From the looks of it, it seems as though you can pair a character with any other. However, it is not clear if the 2nd character can be tagged in or only being able to be called in for an attack. Newer screenshots confirm that you can pair anyone with anyone and that the game plays like a tag battle.
   
3. Every character has 4 special attacks: 必殺技 Hissatsu-waza, SP必殺技 SP Hissatsu-waza, 乱舞技 Ranbu-waza, メタフィールド必殺技 Metafield Hissatsu-waza. SP uses 1 gauge charge while Ranbu uses 2. It is unknown under what conditions can Metafield be performed and how many - if any - gauge charges are used. Metafield can be used at any time and it consumes one SP charge.
   
4. Attack buttons known so far are Weak, Medium and Strong, very much like Street Fighter.
